Technical Support Engineer (Civil Applications) - Solution Center
Full time position
Location: Mississauga, ON

RAND Worldwide has an excellent opportunity in our Solution Centre for a Technical Support Engineer. RAND’s TSEs are responsible for providing remote technical support to customers via telephone, webcast and other electronic communications. TSEs must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as very strong problem solving and time management skills. This is a customer-focused position aiming to exceed customer expectations.

This position requires experience using AutoCAD software applications. In this role, the TSE will be part of a team responsible for providing technical support for customers using Autodesk civil engineering software. Experience with Autodesk’s Civil 3D is recommended; and experience with an additional 3D package is an asset.

Additionally, in this role, the TSE will:

  • Provide timely, technically accurate solutions for our customers
  • Maintain a high level of service and call statistics within the Solution Centre through self-management of time and priorities
  • Work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Continually build and strive to improve technical expertise
  • Develop a sense of teamwork and responsibility within the Solution Centre to focus on customer service

Education & Experience Required:

  • Three year college diploma (Technologist designation) or University degree
  • Background in Civil Engineering
  • Experience working with AutoCAD
  • Proficiency and high comfort level in a Windows 2000/XP environment
  • Experience in a customer focused position
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues
  • Must be highly motivated and a self starter

Note that our Solution Center does involve shifts between 8am and 8pm EST Monday – Friday, as our TSEs provide technical support to customers in varied geographical regions.
