As per the current Autodesk Subscription Terms and Conditions (article 2.4), subscription customers can install and continue to use previous versions during the term of a subscription contract and any renewal terms.
This is meant so that you have time to ramp up to new software, and continue existing projects on older software. There are a number of conditions attached to using old software; contact your IMAGINiT Technologies office for complete information.

Display Contour Label Lines
IMAGINiT's Civil Blogger, Doug Benoit, shares his insight on Autodesk civil engineering software including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Land Desktop and AutoCAD Civil 3D. In this month's newsletter, Doug shares an excerpt of his blog:
An extremely way cool setting in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008 allows you to place contour labels on a surface and have the display of the label line suppressed. This setting can found under the Surface > Edit Feature Settings > Contour Labeling Defaults > Display Contour Label Line. Just set the value to false.
When you place the labels on the surface, the Label Line is not displayed until you select one of the labels. Then the label line and its grips become visible for selection and now can be relocated.

VIZ or Max?
IMAGINiT's Media & Entertainment Blogger, Mark Gerhard, shares his thoughts about the entertainment and design visualization industry. This month, Mark explains the differences between Autodesk® 3ds Max® and Autodesk® VIZ.
3ds Max is the premier package for design visualization, animation, and rendering. It offers all the tools you'll need to make architectural movies, mechanical visualizations, or do any kind of professional rendering you might desire. It also works with film special-effects and character animation.
VIZ is the exact same software, with certain features turned off. It is the "entry-level" product for the firm that wants to start doing design visualization and animation.
