PlanTracer is an application for AutoCAD®, AutoCAD LT, and Autodesk® Architectural Desktop, designed to convert 2D floor and building plan drawings into intelligent models automatically or semi-automatically. These models are suitable for immediate use in Facilities Management (FM) and AEC applications.
PlanTracer enables you to convert simple graphics of source floor plans into objects such as walls, columns, windows, doors, and so on. PlanTracer can process any 2D floor plan loaded into AutoCAD or Architectural Desktop. You can use DWG/DXF files or scanned raster drawings (requires Image Enabler Module or WiseImage), and convert them into intelligent models. PlanTracer also provides an OLE Automation interface for easy integration with other applications.
Conversion of 2D drawings
The conversion of 2D drawings into an intelligent model is based on unique algorithms that enable recognition of arbitrary object by searching and recognizing patterns in 2D plans.
