The Revit Structure Advanced class will build on the skills acquired in the Revit Structure Essentials course to take students to a higher level of productivity with Revit Structure. Lecture and hands-on exercises will be used to explore Families and working with Standard Component Families. Students will also learn techniques to import and link drawing files into Revit Structure from: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architecture and Revit Architecture. Additionally, students will learn how to import/export files from other CAD Applications.

Fundamental Topics:

• Use different types of families for adding structural elements
• Create system families in projects
• Work with different types of standard component families in projects
• Create different types of in-place families in projects
• Create and edit detail component groups
• Share project data with AutoCAD® users
• Share project data with AutoCAD® Architectural Desktop and Autodesk® Revit® Building users
• Import and export data using IFC format
• Facilitate design reviews using DWFT format
• Create and manage worksets

Prerequisites: Students should have completed the Revit Structure Essentials course or have equivalent experience using Revit Structure. Structural engineering or architectural design experience is highly recommended. It is also recommended that the student have a working knowledge of Microsoft® Windows® XP or Microsoft® Windows® 2000.
