Cut and Paste Hotfix
Applies to AutoCAD 2007 and verticals
This hotfix corrects the problem where cut and paste, copy and paste, block and insert, wblock and insert, and drag and drop operations fail in drawings saved in AutoCAD 2000 and Release 14 file formats.
Once the hotfix is installed, drawings that are subsequently saved in AutoCAD 2000 and Release 14 formats will work as expected. However, drawings that were previously saved in these formats from AutoCAD 2007 will continue to have the problem unless they are resaved with the hotfix applied.

The 2000 from 2007 Find Utility is available on the same Web page to identify those drawings saved previously from AutoCAD 2007. If you have a large number of drawings that need to be resaved, DWG TrueConvert is a free utility that makes the job easier. (Download TrueConvert here.) Make sure you apply the hotfix to DWG TrueConvert before resaving the drawings.
Autodesk Creates HDTV Content for World Cup
Autodesk's software was used to create high-definition television (HDTV) content for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. (The World Cup of soccer occurs every four years and is one of the most widely viewed sporting events worldwide. This year, the tournament was held in twelve German cities between June 9 and July 9.)
METAphrenie of Berlin created the Adidas "Impossible Team" commercial with Autodesk's Maya 3D animation software. This entirely computer-generated ad features Adidas soccer shoes used in the final World Cup match. Artists at METAphrenie used Maya software to model, texture, and animate all aspects of the commercial, including the ad's two main characters, the soccer players' legs and feet, the products, and the environment.
Post-production house Method Studios used Maya and Discreet Inferno visual effects system to create Budweiser's "The Wave" commercial, first aired during Super Bowl XL in February 2006. It depicts a packed soccer stadium in which fans hold up cards to create the image of a Budweiser beer being poured into a glass. Maya was used to create the cards and Discreet Inferno was used to composite various elements in the ad such as the soccer players and the crowd.
Deep Blue Sea of Florida created broadcast promos, bumpers and opens, as well as the channel logo for Mundial Total -- DIRECTV's Latin American World Cup channel.
Post-production facility, Locomotion, used a variety of Autodesk products to create a commercial for a mobile phone network -- O2 Germany. In the spirit of the World Cup, the ad shows four German soccer legends engaging in an impromptu soccer scrimmage inside one of their homes. As they play, the walls of the house fly away and a soccer stadium is exposed. Maya was used to create the ad's stylized 3D world, including the house, furniture, balls, stadium, shadows and mobile phones. Combustion desktop visual effects software was also used for b-spline rotoscoping work and pre-composites, while the Discreet Flame system was used for high-definition finalization.

Publish Your 3D Models From AutoCAD Into Google Earth
The Google Earth Extension is available for beta testing in AutoCAD 2007, Autodesk® Architectural Desktop 2007, Autodesk® Civil 3D®, and Autodesk Map®3D 2007. This public beta requires no non-disclosure agreement, but your feedback is appreciated.
